The Steen’s Mountain Wilderness wild horses are named Kigers, after the Kiger Gorge where they were first discovered. They are a resilient herd, living in arduous conditions, yet adapting to their habitat as they best can. Family is a vignette of 5 herd members who so kindly let Isabelle observe them for a long while. "They" say that the innermost feelings one has towards others are always reciprocated. Her feelings for this herd were pure love. They were watching her watching them. Both the herd and myself, moved very little, perhaps, I like to believe, to not disturb the precious and powerful feelings of love shared between us.
