Shadows as symbols of what follows us through life. Shadows are the duplicate copy of how we stand yet in a basic and simple abstraction that does not fabricate or mislead. I like to think of shadows as the constant reminder that it takes light to create one. Shadows remind us we are human in a complicated world.

Something That Matters — $6,200
I painted this magnificent elk on paper in my cabin in West Virginia years ago. I found a photo in an old National Geographic Magazine and I liked it, the feel, the palette, so I painted it. It was rolled up in my painting storage cabinet, and rediscovered years after its creation. The irony is, I now live in the Willamette Valley of Oregon , elk herd habitat. Little did I know then, or perhaps my heart knew, and was drawn to this image for this reason. Funny how intuition works.
