The Galloping Nine depicts a herd of energetic horses all in a row moving swiftly and convincingly towards the viewer. I enjoy painting herds because there exists a juxtaposition of unity in the whole unit, yet each individual horse possesses its own unique characteristics that make the herd more interesting and beautiful.
